What is greywater? This is gently used water from your bathroom sinks, showers, tubs, and washing machines that is not water that has come into contact with fecal matter.
A greywater system uses this water and diverts it to be used for another purpose like flushing toilets, watering gardens or landscaping instead of flushing it down into the sewer.
Hydraloop is a Dutch based company that has worked hard at providing an “all in one” greywater system that can be installed in any home or building. They claim it can save around 45% of your water usage and sewage output, with its low-maintenance greywater system. This unit collects water from showers, baths, laundry, air conditioning condensation and rainwater harvesters to filter and redistribute the water throughout the home or building. From the Hydraloop, this recycled water is used to flush water closets (toilets), pools & gardens as well as laundry facilities.
In 2019, the average household of three people used 230 m3 (cubic meters) per year which is the equivalent of 630 litres of water per day. Without recycling, 53% of this 630L average is used to flush toilets, do laundry and water gardens & fill pools. With the use of a Hydraloop, we can help reduce the amount of freshwater consumed as well as the cost of water usage significantly.

The Hydraloop system works completely automatically and comes with its own App that tracks the amount of water you recycle & save per day/week/month. With the Hydraloop home App, you can also optimize water saving. For example, at what time is there sufficient recycled water to run the washing machine or irrigation system. This App also allows for the system to be monitored 24/7 for support, maintenance advice and updates. In situations where there is insufficient supply of recycled water, the Hydraloop will automatically switch to its back-up water supplied by the unfiltered municipal or well water. This ensures that the fixtures or systems that rely on the Hydraloop will always have a supply of water.
This system is not only available for residential applications. Hydraloop offers a made-to-measure commercial solution with their Hydraloop Cascade system. This means we can interconnect several Hydraloop units to accommodate hand basins and showers in multi-residential and commercial buildings, fitness centers, sports clubs, and student housing.
